Shenzhen Brand Store
Liang Yuxi x Xiwu | Coexisting with the Surroundings
Located in a quiet corner, Xiwu Shenzhen Store displays a pure and authentic image, like a reflection of real life. The minimalist white hue of Xiwu gracefully and abundantly symbolizes all possibilities of life. With a casual glance, it stirs the hearts of passersby like a stone falling into a lake, initiating a delightful journey of life's senses.
In this aera of overwhelming complexities and distractions, how can we strike a balance and seek insights into a life that is non-parametric and free from consumerist constraints? Designers are stepping up to this challenge by returning to the abstract essence of spatial systems and engaging in multidimensional thinking that integrates the dualities of Taoism. By integrating and internalizing the spatial philosophy that Xiwu has been practicing for years, they are breaking boundaries and embracing innovation to create beautiful living spaces where both material form and inspiration coexist.
The aim is to fully express the brand's aesthetic ingenuity, inherent elegance, and the understated yet high-quality essence of its products. Through a design-driven multisensory experience, we aim to delicately depict the elegant layers of living spaces, hoping to awaken and restore more people's keen perception of the essence of a good life under the influence of a more Xiwu-like sensory atmosphere.
Integrating diverse images of residences,
Echoing the freshness of the present moment
Within this minimal exhibition space dedicated to residences, the intimacy also signifies grandeur. The brand's physical presence is revealed in intricate detail through the shifting perspectives, transforming the systematic living scenarios into meticulously crafted design narratives, akin to intricate brushwork paintings. This meticulous attention to every detail of life is not cluttered or overcrowded, but rather serves as an unnamed gateway that opens up a convergence of images, inviting individuals to awaken their senses, seek poetry, and reach their ideal realm.
In Xiwu's brand philosophy, "concealment" and "simplicity" do not refer to the disappearance of products, emptiness, or a monastic lifestyle. Instead, they signify the diminution of design intentions and the retreat of products' dominating presence, allowing them to become the backdrop that enhances the presence of people and elevates the space. Designers have not been constrained by the limited scale of the exhibition hall and overlooked the profound implications of "concealment". Instead, they have carefully poured their attention into the details, expressing the brand's hidden yet profoundly moving elegance.
"People choose their beloved meanings from the words of the poet, but the ultimate meaning of the poem points to you." - Rabindranath Tagore, "Gitanjali"
"From the words of the poet, one selects their own beloved meanings," revealing the special existence of humans, accommodating the present embodied state, and collecting ethereal souls... The space seems to embody the full meaning of home. The physical body of a person relies precisely on these external entities and spatial configurations for its existence. Therefore, places often revolve around abstract semantics, yet often express themselves by highlighting concrete aspects of daily life. In this process, realism and abstract expressionism intertwine and interpenetrate in the expression of the space, constituting a kind of non-abstract abstraction that neutralizes and softens the commercial perception of the exhibition space. Within the space, living situations constantly break through the interconnectedness of framework interpretations, allowing each scene, space, and object carrier to exist as an isolated individual, while also connecting with other spaces to form a complete semantic representation of home. In the deconstruction and reconstruction of the systematic spatial scenes, daily situations are vividly reproduced amidst twists and turns.
The material nature of the product, as the most fundamental semantic element extracted from the tone of the place, consistently and sincerely runs through the entire design. The harmony between objects and their surroundings creates a scene that is both simple and profound, often leaving people with a refreshed feeling that is unique to each individual. The spatial imagery emerges as the viewer's senses engage with the unknown, serving as another way to inspire participation. The spatial setting, as a dynamic interpretation of the imagery of home and a description of one's embodied state, depicts and shapes the vision of home while vividly outlining the concrete perception of the brand space with authenticity and realism.
The exhibition hall is not merely a disguise for reality or a deliberately crafted castle in the air. Instead, the designers aspire to create a sincere and authentic portrayal of life through their staging and arrangement, grounded in reality and concrete, rather than abstract or artificial. Their ultimate goal is to allow visitors to encounter the ordinary yet poetic surprises hidden within the space. All of this is profoundly expressed through the design practice of Xiwu's Shenzhen exhibition hall, which focuses on the essence of daily life. Through this, the fantasies of home and the heart-fluttering moments begin to take on a tangible and realistic form.
